Thursday 27 October 7.30pm The Beacon £6 A joint Festival and Sustainable Wantage event. How do you live your life so you’re part of the solution to a sustainable future, not part of the problem? Join explorer and Guinness World Record Holder Jason Lewis as he explores sustainability lessons that can be drawn from life at sea in a small boat and invite audience members to get involved with his new expedition project, Micro Earths.
Micro Earths are defined as closed system communities that not only survive but thrive within finite constraints. The project mission is to revisit self-reliant communities that Jason came into contact with on his human-powered circumnavigation and unearth examples of sustainability. This universal knowledge, aimed at countries fulfilling their COP21 Paris Accord commitments to limit global warming to below 2 degrees Celsius, will centre around 7 principles for a sustainable future.
