If you’re a fan of ghouls, ghosts or folk-lore, then catch this entertaining talk by Mike White, author of The Veiled Vale ( Two Rivers Press.)
Is the area around The Vale of White Horse really as sedate and peaceful as it seems? What murky secrets lie hidden beneath the ‘pleasant-seated groves and ancient old retreats’ which surround us? From weeping ghosts in Wallingford to weirdness in Long Wittenham, from Steventon superstitions to Highworth hauntings and beyond, Mike will be discussing some of the more mysterious aspects of the history and folklore of our region. There will be ghosts; there might be witches; there may be unexpected animals and there could well be panicking sheep…
