Join us at The Beacon for a grand Ball to celebrate the seventh year of the Wantage (not just) Betjeman Festival. In addition to fine food and dancing we will be enlightened and entertained by Felix Francis, son of legendary jockey and author Dick Francis, who took over writing his father’s horse racing thrillers 17 years ago. Growing up locally, he trained as a physicist, teaching the subject at A level for many years. Now a bestselling British crime writer, he will be talking about his latest novel Pulse, and reminisces on his father’s life and, in particular, riding Devon Loch in the 1956 Grand National.
Discuss; digest; dance!
